Grape Variety of the Month...

- Viognier - A very perfumed and rich grape. Can be found as both varietal and as a blend. Viognier produces excellent wines with a long length and balance. The trademark characters are such as violets, peaches, apricots, apples and pears. Bitterness is almost always present with low acidity level.

Wine Region of the Month ...

- Virginia - Grapes have been planted there since the early settlers came to Jamestown in 1607, making the first wine into the new World from indegenous grapes. Thomas Jefferson was given full credit for importing fine French wines to his estate in Monticello. Successful wines are now made in Virginia made from Norton, Touriga, Petit Verdot and Viognier.

Let me Introduce Myself ...

I would  like to start introducing myself by saying :"Thank you Mom and Dad". I had the chance when I was younger to have parents who love great wines and very good restaurants ... I can say that I grew up in wineries and around nice tables. "Do you think Alexandre is old enough to taste wine ? " My Mum used to say ! I don't remember everything but for sure I have tasted some really great wines !

I grew up in Provence, Marseille more precisely, where scents from all over the world are mixing with the local lavander, thym and spices... It was an explosion for the senses at the local market on saturdays !

It was such a great pleasure to watch my mum cooking and listening to my dad why he should choose this wine rather than another one .... I guess that's when it all started.

My passion to play rugby brought me to England for almost 10 years ... Back in my Provence I could not wait to start my first business in wine and food and then a second shop in the South West of France, the heart of Armagnac, Foie gras, Wine... and Rugby !

Now I spend most of my time in USA where I can discover new wines, methods, shares ideas with wine and food lovers...

Art of Wine & Art du Vin is the way of loving wine, to discover new sensations, tastes and aromas.

A bientot ...
